Can't agree at all. Avatar is a poor copy of Dances with Wolves in content and philosophy. While I did enjoy some aspects of Avatar, especially its green message, it is basically a mix of ideas from Fern Gully: The Last Rainforest, Dances With Wolves, and The Last Samurai.
Its visuals were stunning, but pictures alone don't make a picture. Furthermore, just because something looks appealing, it doesn't mean that it captures one emotionally. Most of the characters in Avatar are just vessels for philosophy not real emotional complexity.
